Maple

Maple is a beautiful, 2-year-old Hound/Lab mix with a sweet, goofy personality that's sure to make you smile. She loves spending time with her people and is happiest when she's included in everyday life.

Maple is a mid-energy dog. She enjoys a few daily walks, some playtime, and then is more than happy to relax with her family. Maple is looking for a home with a fenced yard or a quiet area where she can enjoy her walks. She can be leash reactive toward unfamiliar dogs and people, so she does best with owners who are willing to continue her training and avoid crowded walking routes. She has made wonderful progress and walks very nicely when she's not passing other animals.

Maple is naturally curious and enjoys making new friends, but she does best with slow, controlled introductions to both people and other dogs. Once she feels comfortable, she's a loyal and affectionate companion.

Maple would thrive in a home with older, dog-savvy children or adults. Because she can bark defensively when behind barriers like a crate or gate, she is not a good fit for young children who may not understand canine body language or boundaries. She has done wonderfully with a child who has been taught how to respectfully interact with dogs, including giving her space while eating or resting.
